Gazprom Neft was the first Russian company that conducted geophysical surveys in Arctic shelf

Gazprom Neft is increasing its competence in conducting geophysical research in the Arctic shelf. Previously, such studies in the Arctic shelf were not carried out by the Russian companies.

To carry out field geophysical studies (PLT) on the Prirazlomnaya platform in the horizontal injection well, Gazprom Neft-Noyabrskneftegazgeofizika specialists used Russian-made equipment: the PKN-7 geophysical lift and the LUG 100-70 lubricator. In addition, the installation of the telescopic crane TELEMAKS-150M, designed by a Russian manufacturer specifically for work on the Prirazlomnaya platform, was carried out. Adaptation of a typical crane project for use on the Arctic shelf was led by experts from Gazprom Neft Shelf and Gazprom Neft-Prirazlomnogo, which is the platform operator.

“For us, work on the shelf is evidence of the trustworthiness of our specialists,” said Sergey Slyusenko, managing director of Gazpromneft-NNGGF. — In order to carry out these studies, which are undoubtedly unique to Russian geophysical companies, we worked on competences, gaining new knowledge and skills, and adapting equipment to the harsh conditions of the Arctic. And we are pleased that in practice we have proved our advantage over other possible PLT operators. "

"The strategy of Gazprom Neft’s oilfield assets suggests that until 2025 Gazpromneft-NNGGF will significantly increase the share of high-tech services in its portfolio in the near future, and conducting research in horizontal wells on the shelf is one of these services. The key strategic goal of Gazprom Neft’s geophysical asset is to gain a foothold in the top five largest Russian geophysical companies, and we are confidently moving towards its implementation, "said Sergey Smetskoy, CEO of Gazpromneft-Nefteservis (managing company Gazpromneft-NNGGF).

"The PLT at Prirazlomnaya is the result of large-scale collaboration. From the design of specialized equipment to cooperation directly in the process of research — this path, unique due to the specifics of work on the Arctic shelf, we marched together. The result of the work will be a more detailed understanding of our future prospects for work in the explored wells, "said Ralif Gilfanov, CEO of Gazpromneft-Prirazlomnoy.
